Whose personal data do we process?

  • Customers and their contact persons – to prepare quotes, carry out transport orders, communicate about the order and invoice.
  • Contact persons at loading and delivery addresses – where necessary to collect or deliver a shipment (for example on consignment notes/CMR).
  • Suppliers and subcontracted carriers – to purchase and perform services and for the related administration.
  • Visitors to our website who request a quote or contact us.
  • Job applicants – to assess their application.
  • Users of our customer portal (track & trace), newsletter recipients and visitors to our premises – where applicable (see below).

Which data and for what purpose?

Quote requests and contact. Through the quote form on our website we ask for your name, company name, email address, phone number, loading and delivery addresses and details of your cargo. You may also attach a packing list or photo. We use this data to assess your request, send you a quote and contact you. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.

Performing transport orders. To plan, carry out and invoice orders, we process the contact details of your contact persons and the address details of loading and delivery locations. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligations (such as the statutory retention obligation for tax purposes).

Job applications. Applications reach us by email via our website. We only use your CV, cover letter and contact details to assess your application. Legal basis: taking steps prior to entering into an (employment) contract.

Track & trace and customer portal. Our trucks are equipped with an on-board computer system, which allows us to track the location and status of shipments and share this with our customers. Customers with access to our customer portal receive a user account, for which we process name, email address and login details. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

Newsletter. We only send our newsletter to contacts who have signed up for it or with whom we have a customer relationship. The newsletter is published a few times a year and sent via Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the newsletter. Legal basis: consent or legitimate interest.

Camera surveillance. We use camera surveillance on our premises in Ophemert to protect people, vehicles and goods. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Website visits and cookies. Our website uses cookies, including for statistics (via Google Tag Manager/Google Analytics). We only place non-essential cookies with your consent. You can read more in our cookie policy.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not keep personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as the law requires:

  • Quote requests that do not lead to an order: up to 1 year, so that we can find previous requests.
  • Data from orders and the financial administration: 7 years (statutory retention obligation).
  • Job applications: no later than 4 weeks after the end of the application procedure, or up to 1 year with your consent.
  • Camera footage: up to 4 weeks, unless footage is needed to handle an incident.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Customer portal: as long as the account is active.

Sharing with others

We never sell your data. We only share data when this is necessary to carry out an order (for example with a subcontracted carrier or consignee), with service providers who support us, such as our website developer, hosting provider, IT and accounting partners, our transport management system and our on-board computer system, or when we are required to do so by law. We conclude a data processing agreement with service providers who process data on our behalf. Where a service provider processes data outside the European Union, such as Google or Mailchimp, this only takes place with appropriate safeguards.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unlawful use, such as secure connections (https), access restrictions and password policies, and backups. Employees with access to personal data are bound by confidentiality.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data. You may also object to the use of your data, have the processing restricted, have your data transferred and withdraw any consent you have given. Please send your request to info@blankerstransport.com. We will respond within four weeks. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself.

Complaints

Do you have a complaint about the way we handle your data? Please contact us first and we will look for a solution together. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

We may amend this privacy statement, for example if our services or the law change. The most recent version can always be found on this page.
